Office Sync is Hands-free, Wireless Data Transfer for Farm Works Software

Farm Works® Office Sync is a component of the Connected Farm™  solution  providing wireless data transfer between the field and office, which creates a link between your handheld device, vehicle display, and desktop computer.

Hardware solutions that are compatible with Office Sync include the Trimble® FmX®  and the CFX-750™ integrated displays, and/or Trimble handheld computers and other hardware devices utilizing the Farm Works field software. Data transfer can include information such as planned and completed jobs, guidance lines, soil sampling and scouting maps, application maps, yield maps, and variable rate prescription maps.

How does Office Sync work?

Simply enter the field record using a mobile device with WI-FI capabilities (or one of Trimble’s integrated displays: FmX  or CFX-750) along with the DCM-300 Modem.  Farm Works makes it easy to enter records with quick drop-down lists of names for fields, equipment, personnel and supplies. Other jobs (mapping field boundaries, soil sample locations, tile lines or variable rate) can also be accomplished using GPS. Once the jobs are completed, Office Sync does the rest for you. Simply drive within your wireless network range and all the data, such as field records and maps, automatically synchronize to the office computer. It is just as easy when more than one mobile device is used in the field. When the wireless network detects each mobile device, all completed jobs will download automatically into one project. In order to boost your wireless range, antennas can be purchased to extend the range another 1000 feet or more.

Field Requirements: (any one of the three options)

• Trimble Juno SC and/or Nomad 900XE handheld with Farm Works Mobile software
• Trimble FmX integrated display or CFX-750 display witn DCM-300 Modem (CDMA or GSM/GPRS compatible)
• Any Windows device with Farm Works Mobile software, including PDA phone using Windows Mobile

Connectivity Requirements:

• Annual connection service for Office Sync, Vehicle Manager, and/or CenterPoint VRS
• Wireless data plan (CDMA or GSM/GPRS options)
• Connected Farm Update Service Plan

Pricing for Connectivity:

*Data transfer with Farm Works Mobile does not require a DCM-300 Modem or $600 data plan.  Using a wireless Wi-Fi connection for data transfer is possible for short distances or a data plan can be purchased from a local cellular provider to transfer data long distances.

** The DCM-300 modem and $600/yr. data plan can work with any third party correction service that utilizes CMR or CMR+ formats.  This includes CORS (Continuously Operating Reference Stations), state run RTK networks and other non-Trimble solutions.
