The CD includes all the required applications.  To install, you will need the software license code numbers (included with your CD) for the products you own.  Do not lose these numbers because you will need them to install or reinstall the software.

You should install all purchased application at the same time so the applications work together seamlessly.  If you install a new application later, then you must also reinstall all of the other applications you’ve purchased.  If you reinstall or update the software, you do not need to uninstall the previous versions. 

Important:  before a reinstall or updating the software please make a backup of all your projects and other important data.

 – Start your computer and insert the installation CD (Disk 1). If the installation does not start automatically select Start then Run.  In the Run field, enter D:setup.exe (with D: representing the letter for you CD drive) and click OK.

 – When the opening screen appears select the options for the software that you want to install(If you wish to install any field (Mobile) software, install it separately from the office software.)

 – In the Install window choose the Language and Region and click OK.

 – Read the license agreement and click Yes.  (If you click No, the installation process ends)

 – The default installation location is the Farmproj folder on your C:\drive.  Click Next.

– In the Setup Type window:  choose Full Install with CD-Keys – if you own the software.  If you did not purchase the software choose Trial version (no CD-Keys required).  This gives a 15 Use Day trial of the software.  Click Next.

– Choose the software modules you want to install (ie:  Accounting, Mapping). Click Next.  Then select the precision agriculture hardware devices that you will use with Farm Works software. Click Next.

– Now enter the CD keys for each of the software modules you own.  (Find the  keys on the CD case).  Click Next.

– Enter a name for the folder to add to the Start menu.  (The default name is Farm Works Software, to change this, simply enter a new name.)  Click Next.

– If you are installing the Surface software, you are prompted to install DirectX.  You must accept the license agreement for the Surface module 3D functionality to work correctly.  When the DirectX installation is complete, click Finishand continue installing the Farm Works software.

– When the installation is complete, click Yes to restart your computer then click Finish.

After installation but BEFORE you run the program for the first time you must:

– right click on the Farm Works icon and select Properties.

– Find the Compatibility tab, and check mark Run this program as an administrator.  Click Apply then OK.

When you register Farm Works software you will have full use of your program and you will be able to receive information on future upgrades.  You must register using the owner’s name with the number provided with the software.

The fastest way is to Get registered immediately with the online registration service. (Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet)  Click Next. Enter the required information and click Next.  A message will confirm a successful registration.

Other registration options:

 – complete the online form:  Obtain registration number using an online form.  Once you complete the form you will receive a registration number by email.  Then you can select the option to enter the registration number from the email.  To register online go to:  www.farmworks.com/register.

– Enter numbers you previously received (perhaps from a dealer, technical support or when you completed the online form)  Click Next and enter the registration number for each of the applications that you own.

January 2012 the new Farm Works Version 2012 incorporated Trac into Office Solutions programs  Accounting, Mapping and Surface.  This means Trac is no longer sold separately.  Trac and Funds became Accounting while Trac, Site and Pro became Mapping. Farm Works Surface includes Mapping (which includes the old Trac for record keeping)

If you are on an USP (Update Service Plan) and you update your software you will no longer have a key number for Trac because your new Accounting CD Key number includes old Trac and Funds and your new Mapping CD Key number includes old Trac, Site and Pro.
